Kapolres Gunungkidul AKBP Edy Bagus Sumantri, S.I.K., mengatakan tiga orang pelaku berhasil ditangkap dan diamankan beserta barang bukti yakni tiga alat potong kayu berupa gergaji beserta barang bukti lainnya.
“Pelaku adalah SA warga Ngawen, G warga Semin dan AS warga Semin,” ungkap Kapolres.
Kapolres menjelaskan Pada hari Kamis tanggal 31 Maret 2022, sekira pukul 01.00 wib, petugas piket BDH Karangmojo melaksanakan patroli di Hutan Petak 54 RPH Kenet BDH Karangmojo Kal Bejiharjo, mendengar suara orang dan suara pohon digergaji, setelah dicek asal suara, ternyata ada beberapa orang sedang menebang kayu dengan alat berupa gergaji, dan melihat sorot lampu senter dari petugas patroli, para terduga pelaku melarikan diri.
“Setelah dilakukan pemeriksaan di lokasi kejadian, ternyata didapati 3 (tiga) potong kayu sono sudah berada dipinggir jalan, sudah siap dibawa/ diangkut dan beberapa BB yang tertinggal diduga ada keterkaitan dengan tindak pidana pencurian kayu. Selanjutnya melaporkan kejadian tersebut ke Polsek Karangmojo,” ucapnya.
Selanjutnya, dari hasil penyelidikan di TKP, didapat keterangan saksi yang mengarah ke salah seorang nama pelaku, dan setelah dilakukan pendalaman saksi, dan hasil pemantauan seputar rumah terduga pelaku, ternyata setelah kejadian, terduga pelaku pergi meninggalkan rumahnya, dan pada hari Senin tanggal 27 Juni 2022, didapatkan informasi bahwa terduga pelaku An. SA pulang kerumah, dan dilakukan introgasi awal, yang bersangkutan mengakui telah melakukan penebangan dan pencurian di Kawasan hutan tersebut, dan selanjutnya dilakukan pengembangan, dan didapat 2 (dua) orang pelaku yang lainnya yaitu An. G dan AS. Selanjutnya ketiga pelaku tersebut dibawa ke Polsek Karangmojo guna pemeriksaan lebih lanjut”, imbuhnya.
“Untuk mempertanggung jawabkan perbuatannya ketiga pelaku dikenakan pasal 12 huruf b Jo pasal 82 ayat (1) huruf b UURI No. 18 Tahun 2013 tentang Pencegahan dan Pemberantasan Perusakan Hutan dipidana dengan pidana penjara paling lama lima tahun, serta pidana denda paling banyak dua miliar lima ratus juta rupiah”, pungkas Kapolres.
